Hier das Abstract zur Veranstaltung:

How are different bodies and difference itself represented in our literature and culture? How can difference be seen as adaptation and variation? How do multiple identities affect our lives? What is the relationship between the body and memory?

A reading by and conversation with Kenny Fries, author of „The History of My Shoes and the Evolution of Darwin’s Theory“ and „Body, Remember: A Memoir“, as well as the editor of „Staring Back: The Disability Experience from the Inside Out“, who is in Berlin researching his next book, Stumbling over History, which is a personal look at the history of disability and difference in Germany.
